‘Save Rohingya—Help Rohingya, Save Bangladesh—Help Bangladesh Day’ observed in Dhaka

Over a hundred workers of Garment, Construction, Shop and Bread & Biscuit sectors of Bangladesh today, Friday, December 29, 2017, at 10:30am in front of the National Press Club, in Dhaka city, held a rally to observe ‘Save Rohingya—Help Rohingya, Save Bangladesh—Help Bangladesh Day’. Bangladesh Trade Union Solidarity Committee for Rohingya (BTUSCR), formed with 12 trade union federations, organized the program.
The program was presided over by BTUSCR Coordinator labour leader Amirul Haque Amin. It was addressed by Joint Coordinators of the Committee M Delwar Hossain, Salahuddin Swapan, Ms Kamrun Nahar, MA Gani, Mahtab Uddin Shahid, Md Masud Rana, Anwar Ali, Advocate Haider Ali, Faruque Khan, Humayun Kabir, Rafiqul Islam Rafique, Ms Kulsum Akter & Ms Sima Akter.
The trade union leaders made a clarion call to the international community to pressurize the Myanmar government to immediately resove the Rohingya crisis and start safe repatriation.
They also urged the international community, including all countries & communities, including international trade union organizations, human rights organizations, multi-national companies and development organizations to keep vigil on possible consequences—financial & labour standard degeneration—in Bangladesh following possible illegal infiltration of hundreds of thousands Rohingyas in Bangladesh labour market if the crisis is not resolve immediately.
